To all Local Union 1412 Members
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
This correspondence is to inform you that the nominations for officers of Local Union 1412 will be held at the regular meeting on May 1st, 2019, at 7 p.m. at Bear Lake Clubhouse, located at 3324 Holliday Avenue, Apopka, FL 32703. The elections for these offices will be held on June 5th, 2019, at 7 p.m. at Bear Lake Clubhouse. Anyone desiring to be nominated must be present during the nominations or provide a written and signed statement that he or she will accept the nomination. No member may be a candidate for more than one office. Anyone nominated to more than one office must choose the office for which she or he will be a candidate.
Nominations will proceed in the order of offices as listed in the IBEW constitution whose term of office is 3 years:
President, Business Manager, Financial Secretary (Delegate to the International Convention)
  Vice President
  Recording Secretary
  Treasurer
  Executive Board (4)
To be nominated a member must have a minimum of 2 years of continuous good standing in at least one of the Local Unions affiliated with System Council U-8.

An election judge and tellers will be appointed at the close of nominations. None of these may be a candidate for any office.
Absentee ballots shall be available to any member upon written request to the election judge. Such requests will be accepted up to 5 days prior to the date of the election. No one receiving an absentee ballot will be entitled to vote at the polls without first presenting the election judge with the unused ballot. Absentee ballots received at the post office box after 5 p.m. on June 4th, 2019, will not be counted.
Each candidate shall be entitled to an observer at the polling place and during the counting of the ballots. Observers may not interfere with the orderly procedure of the election. There shall be no campaigning or electioneering at the polls or within 50 feet from the entrance to the polling place. No postings, except for instructions, shall be permitted at the polling place.
In the event a runoff election is required, the same shall be held on July 3rd, 2019, at 7 p.m. at Bear Lake Clubhouse. The same rules shall apply to the runoff election as were applicable to the regular election. Members who requested an absentee ballot for the regular election will automatically receive the same for the runoff.
All officers shall be installed and begin their 3-year terms at the regular meeting of the local union on July 3rd, 2019. The exception being of those in a runoff election, who would begin serving their term the first regular meeting of the following month, August 7th, 2019.
Any member who believes a protest of the election is warranted is urged to contact the election judge within a few days after the ballots are counted. Further protests of the election may be filed in writing with the International Vice President of the district with 30 days following the election. The decision of the International Vice President shall conclude the processing of a protest within the IBEW. In the event the protesting member is not satisfied with the decision of the International Vice President, the member may submit his or her protest to the U.S. Department of Labor.
If you have any questions or concerns about the nominations or elections, please feel free to contact myself (352-430-6272), or Bradly Moore (407-201-0931) a call. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
